It's Going to Be a Hairy Week!

Happy Sunday y'all! It's going to be a Hairy Week for me! My class will learning all about animal hair with some of these fun books! 

What If You Had Animal Hair is a fun book full of animal hair facts. My students LOVE the illustrations of the kids with animal hair on their bodies!

I place the can, have, are chart under the document camera to display on the smartboard... so much easier than using chart paper. No need to use up chart paper on something that we will only use this week!

We will study Author's Purpose throughout our Hairy Week. These books are both informative and entertaining. 

Hooray for Hair is another fun book with very similar animal facts. This will help solidify student knowledge about animal hair so that students can complete this foldable. 

Students complete this foldable using animal hair facts from "What if You Had Animal Hair" and "Hooray for Hair." 

Students work on Author's Purpose with the books What if You Animal Hair and Bugs in My Hair during Read to Self. 

These Author's Purpose graphic organizers are part of my Daily 5 Activities packets. 

Problem and Solution is made interesting with this foldable and the book Bugs in My Hair by David Shannon. 

Students love this problem and solution foldable for Bugs in My Hair.
