Hi y'all! Well we are in the midst of finishing up school days before the Christmas break and things are CHAOTIC to say the least! I definitely felt a little "Grinchy" today, but we managed to do some random act of kindness too!
I was talking with some blogging buddies about what we were getting our students for Christmas and seemed to agree that keeping it simple is best for the kids and us. It seems like in recent years we have seen a lot of going overboard with gift giving. Time and money are precious commodities in my house and being careful with spending is necessary.
How many of you use your Scholastic bonus points to get books for Christmas gifts? I use what I have and add $1 books to make sure each student has a new book to read over the holiday break.
Simply wrapped in tissue paper and placed in a ziploc bag that will serve many other practical purposes tomorrow when they get their holiday break homework packet and newsletter and ornaments are sent home! :)
Some students will get this lower level book, a festive pencil and the FREE Big Hero 6 eraser that I got with the book order.
This book was chosen for my middle readers, another festive pencil and the reverse side of the Big Hero 6 eraser.
This along with their party is my gift to them, I believe it is perfectly simple and quite enough.
This is our simple teacher gift! Bath and Body Works had their Holiday hand soaps for $2.50 this weekend so we grabbed a few. Thank goodness the dollar tree still has 2 packs of gift bags that are simply decorated and simply beautiful!
My daughter has her first male teacher this year, so the hand soap didn't seem right for HIM! What man doesn't like food??? He is getting some of our Oreo truffles. They are so simple to make! One package of Oreos crushed, one package of cream cheese and one bag of white chocolate chips is all you need. I put the oreos in my NINJA and they are crushed in no time. Mix them with the cream cheese and roll them into balls. I put them in the freezer for a bit to reduce crumbling when we dip them in the melted white chocolate. And they are done. SUPER SIMPLE!!!
