It's Five for Friday link up time... I'm not much of a blogger these days but I have really been trying to squeeze in 5 for Friday with Doodle Bugs Teaching! I'm a little late to the party, but maybe it's best to be "casually late???" Haha... don't really think so in this case. But ya know, I have to teach, cook supper, run to swim practice and back, get groceries, create my units, sell real estate and EVERYTHING ELSE! Who else LOVES THEIR CRAZY LIFE LIKE ME?!?!
Since I moved from first to second grade and established the Daily 5 routine... (well we're still kinda working on it) IT HAS BEEN my saving grace! I put a little bit of time in at the end of the month prepping my Daily 5 Activities for the next month, and then I am set. The students love the engaging activities. Ransom letters for word work is always a top choice.
The October Work on Writing center has turned some reluctant writers into creative authors! I meet with them once a week to discuss a prize piece during our conferencing time. I have been truly amazed in the difference in first grade writers and second grade writers.
Wow, wow, wow!!! My friend Julie at A First for Everything has created the most amazing Fall Close Reading Bundle. These are paired up with my science/social studies lessons most days and there are lots of activities to get the students engaged in reading and re-reading the texts.
I really lucked out finding these buckets today for $1 each!!! Just in time and absolutely perfect for "We've Been Boo'ed" a new tradition from my friend Marissa @The Inspired Owl's Corner. This is an awesome FREEBIE that you can grab by clicking here for the file. You will not be disappointed!
If you are looking for some deals, be sure to check back Tuesday to join or shop our Falling Prices linky! All the linked up sellers will be offering 2 items in their stores for only $2 every Tuesday in October. Always some great items to be had!
Great ideas for Daily 5, Missy! I'm finding with the combo that I need to revamp D5 a bit. Thank you for getting my wheels turning! I'm so glad you like the We've Been Booed/Owled/Whooed/Hooted file! Let me know how it goes at your school!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of 2 items for $2 every Tuesday!!!
