Over the next 6 weeks, some awesome teacher bloggers are going to share tips that you will love to have as you get ready to start your teaching career.
And for the rest of us... you may even find some useful tips to get you pepped for the upcoming school year.
Week 1:
Decorate your room, you deserve it girl,
but don't forget the budget will be tight!
This week is all about decorating your classroom on a budget. I know that you will find some wonderful tips along the way. Here are a few of my little budget saving tips:
(Sorry for the bright sun coming through the window and ruins my classroom pics!)
This word wall uses a cheap flat sheet, this makes it so durable I don't have to replace it this coming year! You can get them at Walmart for about $9! Below the word wall, you see the printed fabric... these are curtains! I bought 3 curtains for $10 each and hung them on a bigger bookshelf then cut off the length to fit. Here on the smaller shelf is where I stapled on the remnants of the length!
Sticking with the black and adding bright accents is another way to stretch your bucks! Even if you change your theme, the black and maybe even the brights won't have to be replaced!
You can find tons of shapes, sizes, and colors of bright baskets at the Dollar Tree! Especially at back to school time!
I splurged a little on the reading tent from Oriental Trading... but I wanted to point out the walls, I hung some plastic table clothes for my background! I know this probably would get me in trouble with the fire safety inspectors... but it was cheap and I'll take it down if they ever say anything. Better to ask forgiveness than permission, right?!?! Haha!!!
Just another snap of a plastic tablecloth! We were out of black paper at the time so I resorted to plastic tablecloths! $1.00 each so why not?!?!
Most of the posters and signs in these pictures are found in this pack in my TpT store. Click the pic to find it...
This pack uses only black ink and you can print on any color cardstock that you choose! Includes posters for most of your basic classroom needs!
Check out the ideas these other teacher bloggers have to share with you and be sure to check back every week for the next 5 weeks for more tips.
Thanks for stopping by!
Tablecloths are always good to have on hand! For classroom decor, spirit days, art projects or costumes! Is this linky open for anyone to join in?
