June Pinterest Pick 3 ~ Gardening

Well y'all I know school is already out for most of you... we have just a couple more days to go and I am sooooooo ready! I'm linking up with some of my best blogging buddies for their monthly Pinterest Pick 3 linky. We wanted to share some summer ideas, even if they aren't teaching related.

We started a few gardening projects a few weeks ago for my 12 year old daughter who is really into agriculture these days. Her current "when I grow up" dream is to own a garden shop/cafe/bookstore... interesting!

These self watering water bottles are a great way to help your plants get a little more water the next time you water them.

Here is what it looks like in our garden! :)

We are also doing some raised beds inspired by this pin. I am not too much into herbs... I barely cook so we are going to try strawberries in ours. I am sooooo excited to have them away from the bunnies and squirrels... MAYBE!

We are also working on terrariums. My bay window is full of jars containing cacti and succulents. Next we will be trying mosses and ferns. They are interesting but I have a hard time deciding what plants will work in them.

I hope that all you teacher peeps find somethings in our linky this month to help you relax or bring you joy this summer! Thanks for stopping by!

  2. I have a jar that is exactly like the one used for the terrarium but I haven't had a clue what to do with it. I think you just gave me the perfect idea! I do not have much of a green thumb but I like to dabble so that looks like just my kind of project. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Self watering water bottles! I love it! Now I have no excuse to kill my plants via lack of watering!

  6. I can not garden to save my life, but maybe just maybe some of those ideas could help me and my brown thumb!

  7. Well, it looks like you're going to be putting a green thumb to good use. We, too, are considering some raised bed, but might use our old sandbox. See you around. Kathleen Kidpeople Classroom
