Can y'all feel spring in the air yet? There is lots to celebrate! I am closing in on 1000 TpT followers AND celebrating my upcoming SPRING BREAK!
A teacher's proudest moments come in the spring! We really start reaping all of the seeds of our hard work. My students struggled through regrouping, fractions and writing about what they have read most of the year. Now they are going at it with accuracy and speed! Many milestones have been achieved this year and I am so proud of my students.
My class will be celebrating some Easter fun with a picnic and our Bunny Hop fruit salad. Students always love this simple mix of apples, oranges, strawberries, marshmallows and optional coconut. A day outside it just what we need. Kite flying fun is also on the agenda, after researching kites, writing about how to make them, and making our own kites, students love a good kite flying day and it gets some of that spring fever out of them! :)
My "Let's Go Fly a Kite" unit has been so much fun to work on this spring! Students did their own research using QR codes and reading an informational text.
Soon we will be using this unit for researching plant needs, parts and the life cycle using QR codes and an informational text.
One of our final activities will be creating a backpacking survival kit with this fun unit. Students will research to find out what is needed for a day of hiking using QR codes and an informational text.
Enjoy this freebie and your students will love creating their own kites! An informational text will help them learn a little about the history of kites and what makes a kite fly.
