I'm linking up with Teaching Blog Addict and Doodle Bugs Teaching to share the fabulous linky that is happening now with the gals at the Teaching 2 Step collaborative blog!
It's a Halloween Bash full of goodies with the ladies at the Teaching 2 Step collaborative blog.
You will find all sorts of crafts, recipes, prize packs, freebies and sales when you visit all of the blogs participating in this hop.
Click here to grab this Halloween Bash Freebie! Halloween fun with a purpose is in these two activities for "The Old Woman Who Wasn't Afraid of Anything" and "Where the Wild Things Are." Students will learn about cause and effect and sequence events from a story.
Have some pumpkin fun with this Pumpkins, Pumpkins and More Pumpkins unit that is on sale this weekend for just $2! Students will compare and contrast the stories, focus on how characters respond to situations in stories and learn about the pumpkin life cycle.
The work on writing station has been a popular choice this week with the new activities from my October Daily 5 Activities packet. The list 10, creative writing and October journal with writing prompts keep them engaged.
We're learning about the differences in fiction and nonfiction texts with my Bats, Owls and the Moon unit on TpT. We started this week with bats and this interactive anchor chart found in the unit.
Today we were ready for research on different kinds of bats and began working on these "trading cards" where students record information on different kinds of bats.
Join me on my facebook page tonight 8:00-10:00pm EST for fun 80's trivia and some prizes!
Almost forgot to include a recipe for you! I'm not really much of a cook these days... it's got to be quick and easy and fit my husbands very strict diet (and this soup does NOT!)
BUT it is SOUPER easy so I thought I'd share.
Ingredients: 1 pound of hamburger, 1 can of chili ready beans, 1 can of chili ready tomatoes, 1 can of black beans (rinsed), 1 can of corn, 1 packet chili seasoning, 1/2 jar of salsa, 1 packet of ranch dressing seasoning.
Directions: Brown and drain the hamburger meat, add chili seasoning and water (see packet), mix and cook 1 min, add the ranch packet and mix, add all remaining ingredients and simmer for at least 20 minutes.
Top with cheese and/or sour cream, serve with tortilla chips, potatoes, and/or cornbread muffins.
Warms the body on a "chili" fall day.
Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been up to this week and be sure to check out all of the other blogs that have fabulous things to share!
The Black Bean Taco Soup looked good; may have to try that out this fall.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Lori
