I'm finally going to get back into the habit of posting freebies and linking up with Classroom Freebies and Teaching Blog Addict for their freebie days.
First I am going to share a funny from one of my littles... Do any of you do mclass testing? The assessment has many components like Nonsense words, sight words, oral reading fluency (timed 1 minute passages), etc. I go through most of these small components in one sitting with my students, so.... when one of the littles had done all of these and we were working on his oral reading fluency assessment, I asked to tell about what he just read (part of the assessment). HIS ANSWER: NONSENSE WORDS, SIGHT WORDS AND A STORY ABOUT GOING CAMPING! Hahahaha... I think we need a re-do. ;)
And now for a freebie... are you introducing or reviewing story elements with your students at the beginning of the school year? I find that fairy tales make it fun and easy because the students are already familiar with the basics of the story, though they may not be aware of the names of those elements. This freebie contains pieces for creating an anchor chart and a story element sort to go with Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Click here to get my freebie Story Element Sort with Fairy Tales and find out more about my full unit. Students will love learning about story elements with these familiar stories.
This is the beginning of our anchor chart that we will add to during the week. All of the pieces on this chart are included in my Story Elements with Fairy Tales unit.
