My good friend Lisa at Pawsitively Teaching had the idea of sharing Words of Wisdom for the upcoming school year, primarily for new teachers but we all need reminding of some things. I am linking up with Miss DeCarbo at Sugar and Spice for her Wordless Wednesday! So my words of wisdom will be somewhat wordless...
No matter what... remember YOU ARE making a difference, even when you don't feel like it! It's the little things that count.
So stock up now on little things while they are on sale. Grab extra notebooks, markers, dry erase markers, and TONS of PENCILS!
AGAIN... You are making a difference. Sometimes it is more noticeable than other times, sometimes it may not come in the form we expected or hoped for... just love them all because you may be the only person to look into their eyes that day. Appreciate every little gain you can find whether it be academic, emotional, social, etc.
QUESTION... What is the oddest, most expensive or largest thing you have ever brought from home that you just had to have at school?

I've brought a bunch of stuff. My husband is used to it now. Not big or expensive… mostly random: a step ladder, wireless speakers, a hammer, a screwdriver, picture frames, a stool, painters' tape, measuring tape, ice-cream scooper, sand, a vacuum etc. Whenever I start a sentence with …"Oooh… I need that…". My husband finishes my sentence "for school." It's just how teachers think.. I guess.
ReplyDeleteLove your advice! I bring a lot of stuff from home to school too. I guess my biggest was my 2 printers. Don't really need 2 in my little room but I have a back up in-case one runs out of ink unless they are both out. Which reminds me they are both out of ink;)
