Well, I don't know about you all but I am very tired getting over this past hump day! I just about feel like this poor puppy!
THAT WOULD BE DOG TIRED!
I'm tired.
I'm stressed.
The kids are hyped.
The kids are wild.
These long days of the homestretch effect us all differently.
Spring/summer fever is here and it's not backing away any time soon.
How do we get over the hump?
Here are a few things I will be trying, a few simple, tried and true tips.
1) Keep a reign on the kids. Teach, model and expect cooperation and being kind.
2) Take it outside! With studies of Earth Day, Life Cycles, Insects and Birds... why shouldn't you get out to observe, read and write! Even if its just for a brief period of time, the change of scenery will do everybody some good.
3) Mix it up. Flip-flop part of your day. I do "math in the mornings" while kids are still a little quiet and the sun isn't beckoning us. I will keep all my routines the same, and have the same expectations... just mix up the timing.
BOTTOM LINE~ If it's not working, change it up!
Fortunately, I spent this "hump" on Spring Break, but I am dreading the next 6 - it's just such a crazy time of year!! I love your tips... I think I made need to "shake it up" a little myself. We can make it :)
